MY PORTFOLIO
~ Artwork ~

This particular artwork was a Zentangle Object Drawing. The objects I chose were my bottled water, highlighter, and perfume. The color palette has to do with a triadic color theory, and I used purple as the outline, green for the outside of the objects, and orange for the inside of the objects. The specific tools I used for this project were prismacolor pencils, and a bits of colored marker. Not much technique was used but I did practice some of the patterns before drawing them on the paper. The big Idea behind my artwork was the make one of my favorite colors coordinate with colors I wasn't a fan of, which seemingly worked out as a goal because of the zentangle, but the color choice could have been better. Overall, I love the artwork so far and hope to make exceptionally other good pieces of work throughout the year.

This is a clay palette which was made in October. It is shaped as a butterfly and has little indents to be able to put either jewelry or paint in.I made this clay palette by first drawing out the butterfly and putting the different shaped indents on a paper. Then I rolled out clay slab with a clay roller. After that I put my paper on top of them clay and traced it with a pencil very lightly. Evenmore, I took off the paper and started cutting out my traces and shaving the little indents. Finally I used a sponge to make it less sharp on the sides of the clay. My overall goal was to make a good palette, I feel like I could have done better on the indents because they are a little more deeper than I planned on doing. Nevertheless, this was a fun project because I find clay a lot of fun.

This art piece was made by me while watching a Bob Ross video. It was a little stressful because Ross makes painting look easy even though it isn't. However, like Bob Ross says "'Mistakes are happy accidents." The production of this artwork was made with acrylic paint. The mountains were made with a painting knife which gave the perspective of snow. As well as the greyish green trees in distance give the perspective of the trees getting closer because of the shading. It was overall a good experience and I hope to do more painting assignments.

This is an Ink Blowing art piece. It is supposed to be a deer. I got this idea because when the water colors are long and kind of spiky at the top, so it reminded me of a deer's antlers. I did a mix of purple and blue watercolor because those are my favorite colors. Then I used a thin sharpie to make the deer. It was a cute little project. I feel like I could have done better if I wasn't rushing but it was a fun assignment.

This art piece revolves around perspective. Specifically, birds eye view. I like this artwork because it was relaxing to just basically use a ruler and pencil to make the buildings. As well as shade to make some definition. It wasn't a hard process at all but if I had more time I would have finished the rest or defined some areas over.

To start off, this was a rough draft for felt sewing practice. I decided to go for a Christmas tree because right now it is December.
To add, I used a bright green for the leaves and a green thread and blanket stitched to define the shape of the tree. Even more, I used red, white, and yellow french stitch to make little buds to compare them as ornaments. Furthermore, I think I could have done better at the french stitching because when I would make the knots to make sure they wouldn't fall out, it didn't work well. Overall I didn't really enjoy this project very much. This is due to the repeated knotting through each hole I would make and it was hard to undo. Although it was an interesting experience, at least I learned to attach a button back to my clothes.

Firstly, this art piece is a a felt sewing project. It was a very tedious but fun project that I enjoyed. I really put a lot of effort into this assignment although there could be some improvements. The letters were the most difficult to be precise on. Overall I love the pop tart idea I decided to make. Even more there are four pop tarts to go along with the box. It makes the whole thing much better. Lastly, my cousin loves pop tarts very much and her birthday is coming up so the whole reason for this pop tart idea is to be able to give it to her as a present. I hope she likes it, as much as I liked the process.

Today we did a water color assignment where we follow videos instructions to paint these two beautiful scenery's. It was a stressful experience because I am not very good at water color. However I did save the yellow scenery on the right. I did have trouble putting in too much water and the paper started to crinkle. Overall, it was an interesting assignment, and I am proud to have gotten to do water color because that is one of my weaknesses.

This assignment is called Linoleum Printing and it was Valentines day themed. I decided to do a skull with heart shaped eyes with a tie. To add, the skull has a heart shaped crack if closely examined. A particularly difficult part of this assignment was getting the smaller crevices of the linoleum, but I did like tracing it. I feel like I could have done better at drawing the skull on to the linoleum but it can be a little difficult because it is not on paper. Hopefully my final linoleum will be much more detailed and better thought out.

During our second linoleum we got to choose a theme which was cartoon characters with a specific meaning to society. I chose Betty Boop and women's rights because it is something I care deeply about; especially now that it has become a controversial topic. I first started by drawing my cartoon on paper, then I traced it on top of the linoleum. Next I used the Speed-ball linoleum cutter to get a good and clean trace of the drawing. Finally after I finished carving I picked out colors I liked and made different patterns. Overall I loved this project because I find it very soothing to just trace and carve. I hope it looks as appealing as it was supposed to towards women's rights.

This particular project was called surrealism watercolor. The start of this project began where we picked a setting and four objects to go with our design that coordinated with the specific letter. The letter I got was F so I chose to add a flag, faucet, factory, and fuel. The setting I got was an Oasis. I coordinated this into a setting where humanity has made an environment become something they think they own. I hope this represents how we as a government make society feel. To add on, I decided to use water color for the beginning, and then add prisma-colored pencils afterwards. Overall, this was a difficult project due to my comfort-ability with water color. In the end I just hope it means something to others as it does me.

This artwork is graffiti art of my name. It was a very challenging process for my 3D art due to the amount of floral work I decided to put. However the 2D art was much more fun to be able to find what colors and style I wanted to achieve. The process started with my layout and later coloring my 2D art and then using cardboard to make my 3D work and paint it on how it is seen on the 2D. The overall process was chill however the floral painting could have been thought out better. In the end, there will always be room for improvement but I'm glad I got through this project.
